I am thinking about converting a weed eater engine to fit on the boat. i do not however have very much experience in converting engines as i have never done it before. so before i get my hands on an engine, i want to find out how easy it is?. That's actually a newer version of my boat .. though my boat will be water cooled and run a zenoah that turns about 16,000 rpms your price is good on that i would be interested if it were not so far away. on a side note average speed for a weedeater boat runs about 45-60mph and some faster one just set a record at 120mph.. Maiden voyage of the boat after initial tuning, still needs adjustments..
The lever i used is off of a stihl weed eater model fs80. this is the older style, not the newer style plastic molded lever. i decided on which cable length i needed and made the necessary modifications to fit my application. the ryobi weed eater uses a “z” style cable end, and most cables will be a barrel type end.. I have a 28 cc craftsman chainsaw and i also have a 28 cc ryobi weed eater. i dont know which engine would make for a better power source. i also dont kknow it they make a driveline attachment for the chainsaw.. All the larger scale boats run 2 strokes similar to those found in 5th scale rc on/offroad stuff, but really if you're not after a ton of speed and want to build on the cheap, those high end motors are really just nicely ported higher revving weed whacker motors...
